Data & AI Architect – Data Platforms, MLOps & GenAI

Differdange, Luxembourg

Architect and build it.

Deltria is a new IT services company, and you'd be one of our first architects. As a company, we favor quality over quantity: fewer projects, done properly. We're looking for someone who designs the data platform and ships the first pipeline, or the first AI use case, in the same week.

No slide decks by default, no politics, no corporate policies that take two days to read, no long approval chains, no "that's not your scope". You'll help pick the tools, set the standards and build the engineering culture with us.

What you'll do

You'll own the data and AI architecture of client engagements, from the first design session to production.

  • Design data platforms. Lakehouses, warehouses and streaming; batch and real-time ingestion; data modeling, governance, lineage and data quality built in from the start.
  • Bring AI to production. Traditional ML (forecasting, classification, anomaly detection, NLP) as well as GenAI (LLM-based applications, RAG, agents), with evaluation, monitoring and cost under control. Use cases that deliver value, not demos.
  • Run anywhere it makes sense. On hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), on sovereign and European clouds (Scaleway, OVHcloud, STACKIT, Clever Cloud, S3NS) and on-premises, including GPU infrastructure and self-hosted open-weight models when data can't leave the building.
  • Build with the team. Write the pipelines, notebooks, services and infrastructure code alongside the engineers. Prototype fast, then harden.
  • Raise the engineering bar. Bring software engineering to data and AI: version control, testing, CI/CD, DataOps and MLOps, observability, architecture decision records.
  • Be a trusted voice. Stay pragmatic and open-minded, give honest feedback even when it's hard to hear, run architecture workshops, challenge requirements and explain trade-offs to engineers and decision-makers.
  • Help shape Deltria. Contribute to proposals, define our technical standards and reusable building blocks, and mentor the engineers who join next.

What you bring

What you've built matters more than your title. Here's what we're looking for.

  • 8+ years in data or software engineering, including several as an architect or tech lead, still close to the code.
  • A major and a minor: deep expertise in either AI or data, and solid working knowledge of the other.
  • Python is a must: you write and review production Python, from pipelines to models to APIs. Strong SQL too; Java or Scala is a plus.
  • AI beyond GenAI: you've taken traditional ML to production (feature engineering, training, evaluation, monitoring), not only LLM-based solutions.
  • Data architecture: data modeling, lakehouse and warehouse design, batch and streaming, and the judgment to keep things simple.
  • Hands-on with modern data tooling: for example Spark, Databricks or Snowflake, dbt, Airflow or Dagster, Kafka.
  • You build with AI assistants: you use coding assistants and agents every day and know how to keep quality, testing and security under control.
  • Infrastructure across environments: at least one hyperscaler or European cloud, plus an understanding of on-premises constraints.
  • Modern engineering practices: automated testing, CI/CD, infrastructure as code (Terraform, OpenTofu), containers, security tooling in pipelines.
  • Clear communication in English: in writing and in front of a client, including explaining AI risks and limits to non-specialists.

Bonus points

  • Cloud or data certifications
  • Self-hosting and serving open-weight models: vLLM, Ollama, Kubernetes with GPUs
  • Vector databases and search: pgvector, OpenSearch, Qdrant
  • Open-source data stacks: Trino, Iceberg, Spark, MinIO
  • Data or database migrations to the cloud
  • Large environments: public sector, European institutions, finance
  • Consulting or IT services experience

Why Deltria

  • Impact from day one. You join at the start; your choices on stack, practices and culture will last.
  • Short decision paths. No layers of management between an idea and trying it.
  • Room to grow. As Deltria grows, so does your scope: lead a practice, a team or key accounts.
  • Time and budget to learn. Certifications, conferences and room to try new tech.
  • Flexible package. Car, meal vouchers, pension and other benefits.
