IT Architect – DevSecOps & Platform Engineering

Differdange, Luxembourg

Architect and build it.

Deltria is a new IT services company, and you'd be one of our first architects. As a company, we favor quality over quantity: fewer projects, done properly. We're looking for someone who designs the architecture and opens the pull requests in the same week.

No slide decks as default standards, no politics, no corporate policies requiring 2 days to be read, no long approval chains, no "that's not your scope". You'll help pick the tools, set the standards and build the engineering culture with us.

What you'll do

You'll own the technical design of client engagements, from the first design session to production.

  • Design software architectures. Java, Python and more; modular monoliths or microservices where it makes sense; domain-driven design, APIs, event-driven integration.
  • Build internal developer platforms. Golden paths, self-service environments and Kubernetes platforms that make teams faster and safer.
  • Design cloud-native systems. Landing zones, networking, identity, resilience and cost, on hyperscalers (AWS, Azure) and European providers (Scaleway, OVHcloud, STACKIT, Clever Cloud, S3NS), including migrations from on-premises.
  • Build with the team. Write code, templates and pipelines alongside the engineers. Prototype fast, then harden.
  • Raise the engineering bar. Set and coach good practices: testing strategy, code reviews, CI/CD, observability, architecture decision records.
  • Make security the default. DevSecOps in every delivery: policy as code, secrets management, supply-chain security, SAST/DAST.
  • Be a trusted voice. Stay pragmatic and open-minded, give honest feedback even when it's hard to hear, run architecture workshops, challenge requirements and explain trade-offs to engineers and decision-makers.
  • Help shape Deltria. Contribute to proposals, define our technical standards and reusable building blocks, and mentor the engineers who join next.

What you bring

What you've built matters more than your title. Here's what we're looking for.

  • 10+ years in software engineering, including several as an architect or tech lead, still close to the code.
  • Software architecture: design patterns, DDD, distributed systems, API design, and the judgment to keep things simple.
  • Strong Java or Python: you build and review production code, from services (Spring Boot or similar) to automation.
  • Real cloud experience on at least one hyperscaler or European provider: you've designed and run production workloads.
  • Modern engineering practices: automated testing, CI/CD (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions or similar), infrastructure as code (Terraform, OpenTofu), containers and Kubernetes, security tooling in pipelines.
  • Interest in AI-assisted coding: you use coding assistants and agents, and think about how teams adopt them well (review, testing, security, quality).
  • Platform engineering mindset: you treat the platform as a product and developers as its users.
  • Clear communication in English, in writing and in front of a client.

Bonus points

  • Cloud certifications
  • Platform engineering tooling: Cycloid, Backstage, Crossplane, Argo CD
  • Kafka or other event-driven architectures
  • Data or database migrations to the cloud
  • Large environments: public sector, European institutions, finance
  • Consulting or IT services experience

Why Deltria

  • Impact from day one. You join at the start; your choices on stack, practices and culture will last.
  • Short decision paths. No layers of management between an idea and trying it.
  • Room to grow. As Deltria grows, so does your scope: lead a practice, a team or key accounts.
  • Time and budget to learn. Certifications, conferences and room to try new tech.
  • Flexible package: Car, meal vouchers, pension and other benefits.
